About CLEO®/Europe-EQEC

CLEO®/Europe-EQEC stands as Europe’s premier event for optics and photonics, gathering leading researchers, engineers and innovators from around the globe. The conference drives groundbreaking advancements in laser physics, optical engineering, real-world laser technology, nonlinear optics and quantum science.

CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2027 is organised by the European Physical Society (EPS), Optica and the IEEE Photonics Society, and will take place Monday, June 21 – Friday, June 25, 2027 at the ICM, Munich, Germany, co-located with LASER World of PHOTONICS.

Since its inception in 1994, the joint European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO/Europe) and  European Quantum Electronics Conference (EQEC) have established themselves as the premier platform in Europe for sharing cutting-edge research and development in the fields of lasers, photonics and electro-optic technologies. This esteemed forum includes a diverse range of topics, including the fundamental physics of lasers, nonlinear and ultrafast optics, quantum optics, light matter interactions at different scales, imaging, materials and waveguides, device development,  systems engineering, and the most recent applications. The CLEO/Europe EQEC committees include the leading experts from the international community, ensuring a comprehensive and high-quality agenda. The programme offers a unique balance of the latest groundbreaking research and technological applications for engineers and scientists in the field. The meeting also fosters interdisciplinary synergy between optics and other fields. Attendees can engage in a dynamic exchange of ideas through technical sessions that delve into critical areas and the Laser World of Photonics exhibition, featuring one of the world’s leading platforms for the laser and photonics industry.

The renowned invited and peer-reviewed presentations – oral and poster – represent the forefront of research and technological advancements, which are central to a wide range of applications, impacting fields as diverse as communications, metrology, manufacturing, sensing, biology and medicine, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies.
